It’s funny… Sometimes in the deepest and darkest places are where I see you the most. As I sit on a rock by the mill watching the waters flow with the sun beaming down over the green moss beneath my feet on a cool December afternoon. What starts as a little quiet moment stepping away from the chaos of life, all wrapped up pondering my little world, and it quickly becomes something more. Falling deeper into my own little moment watching a little bird sing of joy, that swiftly flies by me. In that moment I hear you, I see you, but most of all, I feel you. It’s in the rustle of his wings and in the joy of his song. A little old man walks up behind me and says “Wow!” As he gazes at the beautiful rushing waters and scenery flowing in amazement. He says “don’t let me startle you.”
I watch him walk around with his hands shading the sun as he stares at what lies beneath him. He’s filled with joy at some of the simplest things and I can’t help but wonder, is that you God? I feel you in these little moments. When I need you the most you are always there, you have never left my side. As it says you are close to the broken hearted, and I thank you for standing on that promise and proclamation and for showing me your presence when I need it the most. Your love never fails me.
